Elijah called down fire from heaven, but then ran scared. Jonah delivered a terrifying warning to Nineveh, but then whined like a schoolboy. David was a man after God’s own heart, yet he arranged a murder and committed adultery.
How can we reconcile the heroic exploits of these men of God with their obvious flaws? The lives of these biblical characters carry a potent message for people who think they have to perform well or be perfect before God can use them: our weakness opens the door to His strength.
